Cable cars have electrical lighting on them, but they only move by cable.
In the San Francisco Cable Car Museum at 1201 Mason St., there is machinery the visitors can view ~ machinery that actually ensures that the cables, which move the cars, move continuously.
On display are boxes with electric motors and gears in them and large pulleys.
